Winterfest was a family friendly COMMUNITY event put on by the Medical Spouses & Partners Group "MSP" to bring in some holiday spirit and help fundraise. We charged a general admission of $5 online (using Eventbrite.com) or $7 at the door. Children 12 and under were free with any canned goods they brought, with up to 3 free children per 1 paying adult. All canned goods were donated to our local Switchpoint Community Resource Center. We made a public Facebook event and shared it around, as well as put a few posters up around the community and shared it on our Instagram. We had a great turnout.
People brought their families and friends to enjoy some fun kid crafts and carnival games. These included writing a letter to Santa, making beaded and paper ornaments, pin the heart on the Grinch, ice fishing, making reindeer food, reindeer ring toss, and cornhole. They strolled around the local vendor booths and did some holiday shopping for friends and family.
We even had Santa from 4pm-6pm for those who attended to get their pictures taken with him! Mrs. Claus even attended to hand out candy canes. There were also raffle cards that came with each purchased ticket, where after visiting 10 booths or craft stations you could be entered to win one of our 4 gift baskets. The gift baskets were filled with donations from our lovely vendors and a few other lucky items. We also had a yummy food truck outside to stop bye and buy a tasty treat. We also had a scavenger hunt for kids to find the holiday pictures scattered around the event and once they completed their card they could redeem it for a fun Winterfest toy.
We want to thank everyone who helped make Winterfest possible! Our amazing MSP Presidency and Activities Committee. All our volunteers, the school, security and facility staff. Our wonderful school liaison, Vie. All of our wonderful vendors both in our MSP and local community! Also a big thank you to anyone who came and supported us at Winterfest! You guys are all amazing and have made this wonderful fundraising event for MSP possible!
